Local Recordings With OBS (With Comparisons to Fraps)

Local Recordings With OBS (With Comparisons to Fraps)
Here is a good comparison of OBS with Fraps, but more importantly has some advice I've never seen before for folks only recording and not streaming - namely, the suggestion to change the preset in Advanced Settings to "Ultrafast" to save on CPU resources for recording purposes.

Settings guide:  https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/

Lower Your CPU Usage in OBS Streams and Recordings

Lower Your CPU Usage in OBS Streams and Recordings
This video shows how to lower your CPU "hit" or usage in Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), permitting an older or slower computer to stream with more headroom for running other programs, like browser windows, games or software applications.

The software used to monitor the CPU is Sysinternal's "Process Explorer" for Windows at Microsoft Technet:  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Load it up and click the CPU monitor to bring up a full window view. It runs in your taskbar.

It starts at 9 CST. I'd love to see you guys there. Please let me know if there is anything that I should know before I start. :-)
