I've been remiss in churning out new how-to videos lately. So, I invite you all to request tutorials to assist my brain in coming up with topics.
The new Windows version of the Multi-platform OBS is out. I need to do a full review of that and a tutorial showing what is different about the settings. It is still in alpha (pre-beta) but is fully capable. http://obsproject.com (Mac and Linux versions have also been updated.)
Here are the release notes. Don't look at them if you are easily frightened by tech-talk a'plenty! https://github.com/jp9000/obs-studio/releases

Terry Leigh Britton I'm sure that a comprehensive review of the new Multi-Platform editions would be greatly appreciated. I'm finding the Windows edition quite distinctly different than it's predecesor. Chief among my frustrations is the difficulty in "cropping" a source within a scene. Apparantly one can only crop a source globaly. For instance a camera directed at a speaker cannot be presented in full 16x9 aspect ratio in one scene while being cropped to a tight shot of the speaker in another. No global sources, can't seem to stack a video (intro) on top of a camera so as to play through and then reveal the camera image when the video completes. Uncertain as to how to insure that said video starts when the scene is selected. The rather counterintuitive means of selecting "FILTER" in order to crop or chroma key or color key.
ReplyDeleteI want so much to love the new OBS as much as the old but Its structure is quite counter-intuitive to me.
John Brown I agree, but admittedly, it is pre-beta (very alpha) right now at only version 0.11. They promise to add more features soon. In fact, last week they did release a ton of new features, apparently. Still, I tried the Linux version of Multiplatform and was entirely frustrated... so I'll sit and wait, I think.
