Live on Facebook using OBS!

I downloaded the new version of Wirecast to get the Facebook Server URL and Stream Key but did not start streaming using Wirecast: http://www.telestream.net/wirecast/overview.htm
Just authenticate your Facebook live stream like this: https://vimeo.com/162406554
Then I took the Server URL and Stream Key information from Wirecast and used it in OBS.
Craig Long that's an awesome job Craig .. cc Chad LaFarge ..
ReplyDeleteseen this Dan McDermott
ReplyDeleteLOL That is AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteYeah!
ReplyDeleteSo you'd have to use Wirecast to get a new stream key for each session?
ReplyDeleteDan McDermott I guess so. That's where I found mine. I don't know where else to find them. The Server URL is everything up to and including the colon (not sure if you need the colon but I used it). The Stream key starts with the long string of numbers after the colon. You can see here: https://vimeo.com/162406554
ReplyDeleteOnce you get the location information you can stop using Wirecast and use a different encoder.
Dan McDermott Don't know if the stream key is different or the same each time. But you have to create an event (a Facebook post) so I guess you need Wirecast to do that? Wirecast is doing a good job at setting up the event and giving me the information I need to use in OBS.
ReplyDeleteDan McDermott You can use the free version of Wirecast to set up the Facebook post and get the info! That's the nice thing about this.

That's pretty cool. Looks like all OBS needs to do is get an app key from facebook and set it up like any other target destination.
ReplyDeleteDan McDermott Yep.
ReplyDeleteOBS might be a bit slow in getting a Facebook app plugin.
