Hi everybody. I am having problems with the sources appearing in OBS studio. I just now sent this to Mike Downes who has been most helpful but just wanted to also share with you also for some immediate feedback, if possible. The image and slide show and media sources do appear but the rest of the sources such as game source do not. i just get a black screen with the red perimeter around it, nothing more. Im not the only one! I had to display my whole desktop becausr of that issue..

ReplyDeleteIt's works better to capture Firefox than Chrome. Try Firefox and see how it goes.

ReplyDeleteStephen Sabludowsky I was experiencing the same problem that you reported. I was reviewing the log files of my failed attempt and it noted that OBS failed to load VLC. I downloaded and installed VLC v 2.2.4 64bit on my workstation and suddenly my chrome window was visible as a Source: "Window Capture."
ReplyDeleteI don't know why a video player would be required for a browser window but I guess that's why I'm not writing OBS. Anyway, it now woks. I hope that this recent post on an old thread may help someone else, as it appears you fixed your issue weeks ago.
Thanks John. I think when i downloaded studio, that fixed the issue. I liked studio. i recently decided to buy the studio version of manycam which I am finding a good choice. i am also using xsplit. each of them have good features. none do it all. thanks again
ReplyDeleteSometimes this happens to me when adding another camera (it crashes) just close the program and re start it usually fixes these issues for some reason. Sounds like you plugins are doing this
