Well, that's unexpected, for sure. Positive you have the 64-bit version, if there is one? I haven't checked in a couple of months. Definitely let the authors of OBS know about it in the forums if it positively is failing to install.
Project Dead Gaming™ I knew that there was a 64bit Ubuntu - I was referring to OBS. Wasn't sure if there was a 64-bit Linux version. All I find on the Linux page is this:
14.04: FFmpeg is required. If you do not have FFmpeg installed (if you're not sure, then you probably don't have it), you can get it with the following commands:
Terry Leigh Britton even if it is 32-bit only i still shouldnt have any issues. 64-bit os usually support 32-bit programs. Ive never had any issues running a 32-bit on a 64-bit system before.
I was just thinking there might not be a 64-bit repository. Anyway - let me know what they tell you at the OBS forums. I'm not running Linux to test this.
I don't know if you have tried everything in this tutorial yet, but it is specifically for Ubuntu. http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2015/06/open-broadcaster-software-ubuntu-14-04/

14.04/15.04+: You can install OBS with the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install obs-studio
If you get an answer on the forums at http://obsproject.com/forum please let me know what they say!
Thats how ive tried installing it in the past. The ppa for each keeps popping up a error message saying something failed to download.
ReplyDeleteThat is why I am wondering if the Linux version of OBS is 32-bit only. Well, worth asking over there, I suppose.
