So, I am trying to setup my Behringer USB audio interface.

So, I am trying to setup my Behringer USB audio interface. I went into my audio preferences and selected what I THOUGHT is my audio board.(As you see in the picture) Well, doing a test recording, OBS crashed when I pressed stop. It would not open at all!!! I tried restarting and everything. I then realized that that setting must have been what crashed it. I turned it back to “Built-In Audio Analog Stereo” which automatically reverted to my webcam mic!

SO?! What actually is my audio board(Which works fine in Audacity BTW) and how can I get it to work in OBS?! I’m on Fedora 26 MATE Spin.

Thanks so much guys!!!

Hey All it has been a while, life kept getting in the way =)

Anyway, I have an off the wall request for help. I bought a decent video cam that stated it worked with windows as a webcam. Then when it arrives and I start looking into using it as a webcam it turns out it needs to be used on Windows XP operating system to work that way. And this camera is a current active and supported device by manufacturer. (Not a legacy device)

So, I was wondering if someone knew where a generic app or program that might allow the connection with Win 10 as the manufacturer is not offering a modern solution on a modern product.

Does anybody know where to get an Elgato Chat Link (or similar splitter) in the U.S.

Does anybody know where to get an Elgato Chat Link (or similar splitter) in the U.S.? I've tried Elgato directly, but their site store doesn't include shipping outside of Europe. Amazon lists it as 'out of stock', and none of the other various splitters I've tried have worked. They all split the mic and the speaker audio instead of creating two identical audio outs like the Chat Link, which is what I need.

Small "Clean HDMI" Camcorder

Small "Clean HDMI" Camcorder
I can see from the copy that the "I know what they want" marketing people are clueless as to who the market is for this camera.  I think it's me!  I'd love to play with this.  One of the best design features is that the connectors aren't hidden behind the view screen.  Is Santa Claus listening?  :-)

We did a test run of the OBS setup to bring a remote guest speaker into our "live" Tech Tuesday event scheduled for next Tuesday.  Any in the community that are interested in broadcasting live events (with or without remote guests) are invited to view the event.  We'll be including selected comments and questions from live steam viewers using Comment Tracker to pull them into OBS.  Should be fun.

UPDATE: You Tube had some serious issues that evening, and we were compelled to abandon the originally scheduled live event and start a new one.  The program was already in progress in defference to our live in-room audience: Hawaii TechWorks' Tech Tuesday Meetup August 26, 2014

Join Hawaii Tech Works' Tech Tuesday Meetup for August, 2014 featuring Ryan Finlay, Founder of ReCraigslist.com and ApplianceSchool.com.  Ryan will come into the room via a video conference call.  Attendees can ask Ryan questions and he'll be able to answer them.  Live streaming viewers (You Tube) will also be able to interact with Ryan via the "Comments" thread.  He'll also be able to answer those questions in close to real time (streaming delay.)  It should be fun.

Lurking in the gamer community lately in search of tips on video capture devices uncovered something interesting that Intel is doing with their newer processors.  The feature is called Quick Sync Video and it is described in the linked video.  My home machine doesn't have a new enough chip, but I'll definitely be trying this out on my next Hawaii TechWorks Tech Tuesday live event.

I managed to get one HDMI camera into my HOST pc using an AverMedia video capture card.

I managed to get one HDMI camera into my HOST pc using an AverMedia video capture card.  If I want to pull in another HDMI video source, I'll have to do it via one of the USB 3 ports as the machine has only 1 expansion slot.  I still want to stick with the machine for its i7 8 core processor, 32 GB RAM and strong video card.  Reviews on the BlackMagic Design Intensity Shuttle for USB http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003WSQTWU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2GI2495VE4FCV&coliid=I1O4KGGK5T7ASH
seem rife with USB compatibility issues.  I'm trying to decide between that, the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008YTAGGW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2GI2495VE4FCV&coliid=I2PZ75PKIZJDLI

or the 42Kmi Game Grabber HD http://42kmi.com/store/42kmi-gamegrabber-hd#.U692dvldV8E
Has anyone in the community any experience bringing an HDMI video source into OBS via a USB capture device?
Any/all comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am on a mission to reduce the number of computers needed to host live event's and stream them to the web. I'm also moving to replace USB webcams with HDMI video camcorders for 1080 P and optical zoom.
The tricky part is that I'd like to be able to send my Hangout guests to the in-room projector.  The projector would also have to be able to switch to the presentation laptop for the formal presentation.
My current live stream host computer has only 1 expansion slot available for an HDMI video capture card.  I'm taking a suggestion from Stephen Pritchard and looking to add an HDMI switch for local camera selection and feeding the switched source into the stream through the Host PC's video capture card.  I'll be using OBS.  I'll also consider outputting HDMI from the host machine back to the projector.  I think I can do all this with iogear's wireless 5x2 video switch. As a bonus, it will eliminate a lot of messy wires.  I'm just wondering how the video source switching will look when handled through such a switch?
What does the community think?

Terry Leigh Britton does your video capture card fit in a half height slot?

Terry Leigh Britton does your video capture card fit in a half height slot? I just realized that the primary HOA computer I use for HTW has only 1 half height card slot.
I am not thrilled with my 1/2 height card Avermedia gamebroadcaster HD as it is completely distoting HDMI input when using it as a source camera within an HOA. It looks ok within OBS.
If your card can be inserted into a half sized slot i'd go with what you are using.
Thanks for any/all feedback.

I'm stepping up from Logitech to a Canon HV20 Camcorder which has an HDMI output.

I'm stepping up from Logitech to a Canon HV20 Camcorder which has an HDMI output.  So I'm now shopping for an appropriate video interface card to pull it into my Windows machine for use in my live streaming events.  I would welcome any suggestions from the community on which card to use.  Ideally, I'll be collecting at least 2, possibly 3 such cameras. I'm presuming that the interface cards offload at least some processing from the CPU so I'll want to install a card for each camera. (Unless advised otherwise by an informed community.)
